Juan Bulnes’ Bernabeleva estate was one of the pioneers for Garnacha in the Gredos Mountains. Sandy soils-all more than 500m above sea level-yield tangy, brilliantly aromatic wines from old Garnacha clones. The estate works their vineyards in harmony with nature, and employs old-school, minimal-intervention winemaking with long macerations and aging in mostly neutral wood.
